Research your topic. Your research must include at least two journal articles or books. There is a lot of info about his life, but I want to highlight IMPACTFUL elements from his identity and background. Things like what school he attended or what awards he won are not relevant in this paper. I am looking for deeper, more meaningful things. So, I brainstormed the following connections:
Difficult childhood (biography.com [biography.com] indicated his parents had a difficult marriage and he had a strained relationship with his father)
Illness (he was hospitalized for depression and his sister was disabled)
Addiction (he struggled with drugs and alcohol)
Sexuality (he was a gay man living in the South in the middle 1900s)
