Each student should prepare an individual course paper examining the topic of police culture. What is police culture? What creates this culture? How does it impact the duties of law enforcement personnel regardless of whether they work in policing or corrections? Is this same culture present within the courts, the third component of the criminal justice system? In what ways are the police culture a benefit and weakness to organizational effectiveness? Does the current police culture need to be changed? Why or why not? If so, how can this culture be changed?
