Queer family

Feminist theorists tend to view the family as a site for the reproduction of traditional gender norms and male domination. However, today a number of feminist sociologists are looking at the family as a site for transforming gender inequality. Drawing on course material, first identify empirical evidence that demonstrates some ways that queer families (or families engaging in queering) upset gender roles and/or patriarchy. Then, discuss whether you agree or disagree with the following viewpoint: The family is one of the key sites for transforming gender inequality in our society. Whichever argument you make; you MUST draw on course material in some way for support.
