Do we need an international criminal court?
The topic is pretty much self-explanatory. Your task is to write an argumentative research paper on “Do we need an international criminal court?” Your research paper should be well organized and contains facts, quotations or illustrations from reference materials to support your thesis. These sources must be properly documented at the Post-graduate level (MLA standard). You will be penalized for not recognizing all sources that you use to support your research.
It is important to understand that an argumentative research paper makes a claim about a topic and justifies this claim with specific evidence. The claim could be an opinion, a policy proposal, an evaluation, a cause-and-effect statement, or an interpretation. The goal of the argumentative paper is to convince the audience that the claim is true based on the evidence provided.
**Be detailed and comprehensive in your approach**
A rubric and an outline will be attached to help you develop the paper, as well as ensure if all of the criteria are met and exceeds a level A+. Please, on a separate document or the text editor, complete THE PROPOSAL before you start the FINAL DRAFT. THE PROPOSAL is considered the rough draft of the work so I have an idea of what the paper will discuss/highlight.
In the end, I should receive THREE documents: a rough draft of the research paper (the proposal), a final, revised draft of the research paper I submit, and lastly, an annotated Works Cited page (as stipulated in the attachment).
This paper should be taken very seriously as it is a summative worth 30% of my overall mark. Please adhere to university or post-grad readability and writing devoid of grammar and punctuation mistakes.
If you do have any questions or concerns regarding the order, feel free to let me know and I will respond back as soon as possible.
Presentation: NCIC Research
Visit the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) at https://www.fbi.gov/services/cjis/ncic and http://www.fas.org/irp/agency/doj/fbi/is/ncic.htm
This week you will research information on the NCIC website for information regarding data collection, storage, and retrieval. This weeks Assignment will help you prepare for a larger Assignment in Unit 7 which requires knowing what data you can utilize from NCIC to conduct a traffic stop and communicate with other states.
Create an 8-10 slide PowerPoint Presentation incorporating speaker notes outlining the following:
Describe how is data collected, stored, and retrieved.
Discuss the importance of data collection, retrieval, and analysis as it applies to officer safety and the criminal justice system.
Identify four or more methods of data collection, storage, retrieval, and analysis as it relates to the criminal justice system and their importance.
Explain the importance of NCIC in a traffic stop and two or more benefits crime analysis has for both the community and law enforcement.
Identify three types of queries an officer may retrieve from NCIC.
Note: Research is required for this assignment. Locate relevant information about the fundamental principles of how data collection, storage, retrieval, and analysis is conducted within the criminal justice system and distinguish between the relative importance of those principles.
The PowerPoint presentation should have the following characteristics:
Bullets for your main points.
Must include speaker notes to fully explain what is being discussed in the slide bullet points as though you are presenting to an audience.
Contains a title and references slide.
Research and visuals are cited in APA citation format, both in-text and on a References slide. You need to quote material taken directly from a source. The same standards for documenting sources that apply to an essay, apply to a presentation. Go to the APA Style Central website for a digital library of APA Style quick guides and tutorials to refine your writing.
Designed with a live audience in mind in order to inform your viewers about the topic.

Due Sunday @ 8:30pm Assignment Four: Copyright In Your Work
**************** PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS ***************************
Introduction
Youve created many works of authorship in your lifetime. Now its time to move past the artistic qualities of the work and consider its copyright and your rights as a copyright owner. Assignment 4 builds on the discussion project by asking you to consider the copyright implications in your post itself (in whatever form you posted it–whether a written or presentation-style post). Your post is a “work of authorship” that is copyrighted. In Part 1, you’ll complete a copyright registration form for your post (please don’t fill out the form for another personal work as I won’t be able to verify accuracy and it will result in grade reduction). In Part 2, you examine whether Full Sail has any copyright ownership or use rights in your discussion post. Your grade is an average of these two parts.
If you did not complete the initial discussion post, you will have to do so now in order to complete this assignment.
Objectives
- Identify protectable interests and rights holders
- Describe how to preserve ownership rights in intellectual property and personality interests
- Exploit rights through use and licensing
Assignment Instructions
Complete the challenges posed in each of the 2 parts of this activity. This involves completing a copyright registration form for your week 4 licensing discussion submission and answering questions about the University student intellectual property policy.
Part 1: Prepare to Register Your Discussion Post
Copyright registration of creative works require the registrant to supply information about the authorship and scope of the registration. The registration form is designed to tell the Copyright Office the story of the work being registered who created it, who owns it now, whats included and whats excluded from the claim, and whether the work has been made available to the public for sale, license or other distribution. In this part, youll address the following questions to tell the registration story of YOUR licensing presentation prepared for the week 4 discussion board.

- Pseudonym Fact Sheet –
- U.S.CopyrightOffice-HelpLimitationofClaim.pdf –
- Electronic Copyright (eCO) Registration System Tutorial –
3 Challenges to Address:
- Go to Choose the appropriate paper form (scroll down the page and look for Form TX or Form PA) OR start an account with the Copyright Office to practice with the online registration system.
- Using the paper form or the online eCO system, complete the registration (stopping short of actually filing it for a fee).
- Take screen snaps of the completed registration information to show me your work. If you use the online system, the Review screen must be included so I can check the content of your registration; in other words, I want to see all the content you entered, not just a final screen showing you are ready to pay. Individual shots of each of the data entry pages are also acceptable.
Part 2: Evaluate University Intellectual Property Policy
Anytime you are creating works of authorship at the suggestion of others, you need to be aware of whether those parties might have an interest in the work. In this part, youll address the following questions to determine whether University has any interest in your discussion post.
Helpful References:
- University Student Manual (Students enrolled before July 6, 2015) Intellectual Property Policy starting on page 95.
- University Student Manual (Students enrolled July 6, 2015 or later) Intellectual Property Policy starting on page 104.
3 Challenges to Address:
- According to the student policy manual, who owns the copyright in the discussion post that you submit? (see section 4.1 of the Policy)
- Does the Intellectual Property Policy grant University permission to select your assignment from all those submitted by ILP students and use them as good examples of student work? (see section 4.2 of the Policy)
- If University were to create a web microsite showing off all the best examples of student work:
- Would it be able to register the web microsite as a compilation (see Copyright in Derivative Works and Compilations (), and
- Would University own the copyright in all the student work displayed on the microsite or just the selection and arrangement of the works?
UK Public Law
choose one of the following examples of UK law:
1.Human Rights Act 1998
2.Parliament Act 1911 and Parliament Act 1949 (taken together)
3.Public Order Act 1986.
Write a short essay explaining that law and why you think it is important in the UK constitution, and critically evaluating its impact on the UK constitution.
At the start of your answer, you should state which piece of law you have chosen. Your essay should focus on evaluating the importance of the law to make an argument as to how and why the law is important, based on evidence from the attached materials. (1000 words maximum)
Any topic (writer’s choice)
Question 1
Community corrections are a form of punishment administered to offenders within the community where they live. Community corrections include both probation and parole supervision.
Compose an essay of 500 700 words that discusses the key differences between probation and parole supervision, including how offenders are placed on these types of supervision. As part of your response evaluate the three (3) styles (law enforcement, counselor, and social worker) of community corrections supervision that an officer might adapt with respect to how they might be used on different types of offenders to increase the chances of rehabilitation success.
Directly quoted material may be used, but will not count towards the minimum word count. Be sure to support your response with cited scholarly resources as required by APA. A minimum of three (3) scholarly resources must be used when composing your response.
Question 2
While similar to the adult system, the juvenile justice system does have some unique characteristics. Many of these unique differences are the result of protections that have been identified as necessary to ensure youthful offenders have the best chance at leading productive lives as adults.
Compose an essay of 500 700 words that begins by briefly discussing the evolution of the juvenile justice system since colonial times in the United States. Continue your response by identifying and evaluating some of the key reasons juvenile offenders require a different level of protections within the criminal justice system than those provided to adult offenders.
Directly quoted material may be used, but will not count towards the minimum word count. Be sure to support your response with cited scholarly resources as required by APA. A minimum of three (3) scholarly resources must be used when composing your response.

Juvenile Corrections
Juvenile offenders are a population that correctional agencies must handle differently than adult offenders. While the high-level process flow for dealing with juvenile offenders resembles that of adult offenders within the correctional system, unique differences do exist.
In your initial post, identify and describe at least two differences in the way juvenile offenders must be handled differently than adult offenders by correctional agencies, especially when incarcerated. Next, evaluate whether or not you believe the way juvenile offenders are managed under probation supervision differs greatly from the way adult offenders are managed while on probation or parole. Support the position you take on this issue.
