WEEK 6 PROJECT

HELLO THIS IS MY WEEK 6 PROJECT YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE THIS UP ENTIRELY USE YOUR IMAGINATION AND RESEARCH CIA, FBI ETC MY PROFESSOR WAS A FORMER CIA AGENT SO THIS WILL NEED TO BE GREAT THANKS!

1.  Identify a possible significant target/threat.  This does not necessarily have to be a real specific place, but it should be a tangible place that would reasonably be considered a viable target by a terrorist group or individual.  My suggestions would include (but are not limited to) a chemical plant, government building, nuclear power plant, military base, bridges, soft targets, as well as water supplies, agriculture/food production, environmental concerns, communications, computer networks.  You may use any type of terror attack or defense you wish, or a combination of them.  Many of you have interests, knowledge and skills in different areas, so make use of them in this exercise.
2.  Assess the ramifications and impacts, both short- and long-term, on all aspects of people, property, government, economics, etc.
3.  Formulate a practical and complete strategy either to attack or defend the target/threat, and specifically assess the chances of success or failure with current weapons, security, personnel and technology.  The weapons and technology must actually exist.  Do NOT use classified sources and methods for any reason.  Either side you choose, you will still have to know both sides to ensure a successful operation.  This is an action projectnot passive.  You are part of it, not standing around describing it.
4.  Propose new ways to accomplish the task successfully with suggestions of new methods and inventions not yet available, if you wish.
5.  Your project text should be about 2500 words.  Graphics, diagrams, floor plans, escape routes, weapons, etc. are all welcome, if you wish to include them and are talented in these ways, but they are not required.
6.  This is a creative exercise, and I want you to have fun with it.  There are almost no limits for this project, so think out of the box.
I AM ALWAYS HERE TO HELP YOU IF YOU HAVE TROUBLE GETTING STARTED OR GET STUCK.  DO NOT OVERTHINK IT AND STRESS OUT.
DISCLAIMER TO HOMELAND SECURITY:  This is merely an intellectual educational exercise.  No people or property will be damaged or destroyed.

Public Policy

A list of the key learnings that you have personally experienced in this course. Please keep your list succinct and highlight the most important or notable learnings.
Answers to the following questions:
What are some key perspectives you have developed? How can you apply these perspectives as an NGO manager or leader?
What have you learned, and how has it changed/enhanced your perspective on NGOs? How will it impact your work as an NGO professional or researcher?
What do you think will be your biggest challenge managing “with” an organization’s culture? Why? Justify your response.

Personal Statement

I need a personal statement written running with what is attached at a graduate level. Please also include key points below:

–    Unfair? The law can be unfair, but I want to spend my life in a courtroom making it fair even if I only make a difference for one person, that is one less person who can feel neglected.
–    I am a woman who wears a hijab.
– Inclusion
– Advocate, giving a voice to the voiceless.
– Respect, healing as communities, society being able to benefit from one another and the fighting for someone for their rights under the law.
– Law School is a dream of mine. It’s hard work and I’m willing to put all I can for this. I’ve felt voiceless and even if all I do is help one person within the means of the law I have done my job.

Throughout this EMG course, we have studied the various Frameworks that are part of the National Preparedness System that helps establish the National Preparedness Goal. This units topic, the National Response Framework (NRF), can be considered the heart of the matter. This is where all of the specific preparatory actions and the prevention and protection actions come together in the response to an incident or disaster. We have also focused on the issue of active shooters, particularly in school scenarios because this is a topic that is relevant for all of us. School shooting situations have been ubiquitous, happening in all parts of the country. Assume there is a terrorist active shooter attack at your neighborhood elementary school. Be sure to identify the community and school. For this assignment, complete both parts. Part 1: Draw up a block or wiring diagram that shows how the Incident Command, National Incident Management System (NIMS) protocol and NRF would be set up to respond to and control the situation, showing the lines of reporting and directing between each. You should use the actual organizational positions and titles and have enough detail that you can use it in Part 2. You can use Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint to design your diagram using the Shapes and SmartArt dropdowns in the toolbar. The references in this unit have some good block or wiring diagrams to use as a guide; however, do not copy them, use your own creation. In addition, your diagram does not need to be elaborate, but it does need to meet the criteria listed above. Part 2: Using your diagram, describe how NIMS and the NRF would be set up, and who would provide what for whom. In other words, how the whole system would work for this incident. In addition, in your discussion you should include the following elements. Describe how local community emergency management organizations would respond to and support other agencies in resolving this active shooter situation at a neighborhood school. Discuss the different hazards that might be present with an active shooter situation at a neighborhood school, and how they would be controlled or mitigated. Examine what emergency support functions (ESFs) described in the National Response Framework would be carried out and by whom, and how they would be carried out. This assignment should be at least three pages in length (double space, 12-point Times New Roman font with 1-inch margins) and in APA format including title and reference pages (title and reference pages do not count towards the threepage minimum). There should be a minimum of three sources used to support this assignment. One source should be from the National Response Framework (3rd ed.) document and the other two should be any other government document that has been discussed already in this course and is applicable to this assignment. Ensure you provide in-text citations as well as a reference page using APA format. Please contact the Success Center for assistance with APA formatting and writing tutoring. Combine Part 1 and Part 2 and submit in one document for this assignment

Essay

Instructions

Refer back to the two reading assignments for this unit. Then, write an essay that answers the questions listed below.

  1. Read , and answer the questions below.
    1. The Illinois Appellate Court, citing a U.S. Supreme Court Justice, says that “Perhaps we could never succeed in intelligibly defining the kinds of matter we understand to be embraced within the shorthand description of battered woman’s syndrome.” Why not?
    2. Would you be able to formulate an effective legal description of battered woman’s syndrome? If so, what would it be?
  2. Read , and answer the questions below.
    1. Miller claimed to be sane before and after the killing but insane during the time the crime was committed. His attorneys asked that, at the end of the trial, the jury be instructed on the issue of temporary insanity and that they be told that “regardless of its duration, legal insanity that existed at the time of the commission of the crime is a defense to the crime.” Why do you think that the trial court refused to give the jury instructions regarding the insanity defense, which the defendant wished to have communicated?
    2. In this case, the appellate court reversed the defendant’s conviction and remanded the case for a new trial. On what basis was that decision reached? Do you agree that the appellate court should have reached such a decision? Why, or why not?
    3. What does this case have to tell us about the difference between insanity and temporary insanity? Are differences between the two terms significant in cases such as this one? Why, or why not?

Your essay will be a minimum of two pages in length, not counting the title and reference pages. Your essay should contain a clear introduction and be well-organized.

You are required to use at least two resources to support your essay, one of which may be your textbook. All resources used including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations. Your essay, including all references, will be formatted in APA style.

Module 3

The control of our nations borders and the regulation of who can enter and leave the country is an integral part of homeland security. The Department of Homeland Security is charged with preventing the entry of terrorists, securing the borders, and carrying out immigration enforcement functions. Many of the 22 agencies that make up the Department of Homeland Security have as their primary mission 1 or more of these tasks, yet there is a significant ongoing debate about immigration and the role of Homeland Security. Summarize the current debate regarding immigration and homeland security. Explain and support your views on the immigration debate.
