o Describe the quality improvement process and a brief overview the quality model that will be used to improve your practice problem. Include a description of a quality tool that will be used in the quality improvement plan. 

o This process will be used to support the detailed proposed quality improvement plan in Week 4

o Explain why the specific quality model was selected and document your explanation with references.

o Summary  

Summarize the key points discussed in the paper. 

Post an explanation for how you think the cost-benefit analysis in terms of legislators being reelected affected efforts to repeal/replace the ACA. Then, explain how analyses of the votes views may affect decisions by legislative leaders in recommending or positioning national policies.

Chapter 17: Pregnancy, Breastfeeding and the first Year of Life  (10 pts)

Please read the following articles in addition to Chapter 17:

1. (5)  What specific nutrient needs change during pregnancy from the adult woman, including calories, macro and micronutrients and fluid needs? (Refer to the the DRI charts in the front of your text book.) Address any supplements that are recommended..

3. (8) Assume you work in a WIC Clinic. (Women, Infants and Childrens Supplemental Food Program). A woman is asking you why she should consider breastfeeding and what to expect. She is not convinced it is worth all the effort. What information would be important to tell her?

Is there a difference between common practice and best practice?

When you first went to work for your current organization, experienced colleagues may have shared with you details about processes and procedures. Perhaps you even attended an orientation session to brief you on these matters. As a rookie, you likely kept the nature of your questions to those with answers that would best help you perform your new role.

Over time and with experience, perhaps you recognized aspects of these processes and procedures that you wanted to question further. This is the realm of clinical inquiry.

Clinical inquiry is the practice of asking questions about clinical practice. To continuously improve patient care, all nurses should consistently use clinical inquiry to question why they are doing something the way they are doing it. Do they know why it is done this way, or is it just because we have always done it this way? Is it a common practice or a best practice?

In this Assignment, you will identify clinical areas of interest and inquiry and practice searching for research in support of maintaining or changing these practices. You will also analyze this research to compare research methodologies employed.

To Prepare:

• Review the Resources and identify a clinical issue of interest that can form the basis of a clinical inquiry.
• Based on the clinical issue of interest and using keywords related to the clinical issue of interest, search at least four different databases in the Walden Library to identify at least four relevant peer-reviewed articles related to your clinical issue of interest. You should not be using systematic reviews for this assignment, select original research articles.
• Review the results of your peer-reviewed research and reflect on the process of using an unfiltered database to search for peer-reviewed research.
• Reflect on the types of research methodologies contained in the four relevant peer-reviewed articles you selected.

Part 1: An Introduction to Clinical Inquiry

Create a 4- to 5-slide PowerPoint presentation in which you do the following:

• Identify and briefly describe your chosen clinical issue of interest.
• Describe how you used keywords to search on your chosen clinical issue of interest.
• Identify the four research databases that you used to conduct your search for the peer-reviewed articles you selected.
• Provide APA citations of the four peer-reviewed articles you selected.

Part 2: Identifying Research Methodologies

After reading each of the four peer-reviewed articles you selected, use the Matrix Worksheet template to analyze the methodologies applied in each of the four peer-reviewed articles. Your analysis should include the following:

• The full citation of each peer-reviewed article in APA format.
• A brief (1-paragraph) statement explaining why you chose this peer-reviewed article and/or how it relates to your clinical issue of interest, including a brief explanation of the ethics of research related to your clinical issue of interest.
• A brief (1-2 paragraph) description of the aims of the research of each peer-reviewed article.
• A brief (1-2 paragraph) description of the research methodology used. Be sure to identify if the methodology used was qualitative, quantitative, or a mixed-methods approach. Be specific.
• A brief (1- to 2-paragraph) description of the strengths of each of the research methodologies used, including reliability and validity of how the methodology was applied in each of the peer-reviewed articles you selected.

Part II & Response:  While both of us registered as being team leaders according to the Blake and Mouton Managerial Grid our personality types reflected a different perspective on how we both approach team leadership.  The types of personality will be different between most leaders and the same as other leaders.  Defining ones personality helps to determine the rational behind decision making and to understand the way a person acts the way they act (Gunawan, 2016).  These differences and likenesses do not necessarily mean that one personality is more suited to leadership over another but rather there are various approaches to being and effective team leader.  My personality identified that I was a ESTJ meaning I exhibited quite a few differences to your INFJ personality.  While I agree with my test I do sometimes feel that I slip in and out of being introverted and extroverted depending upon the situation thus affecting my specific approach or style of leadership from time to time.  When communicating a message with someone who is an INFJ I would take the approach of fully explaining my message and allowing the INFJ to process and analyze the presented message.  I would also be sensitive the feelings/intuitions expressed by the INFJ personality ensuring that the INFJ was heard and that their opinions on the message being delivered was received and is taken seriously.  This helps to present a message that is clear, validated and well received while giving time to analyze the presented message.  There are many different types of personalities to communicate with as a leader and interacting with all 16 types will inevitably occur through ones career.   The exact personality type with which one is interacting may not always be clear but it is important to foster relationships among one another in order to better understand the personality traits present among ones peers.  

If undertaking the task of determining the reason for recent call outs I would organize a group meeting with all of other leaders facing this situation.  In this scenario it would be the group.  The information would be presented and I would allow the other leaders to express their opinion/feelings and/or present additional data to support the issue at hand.  I would then seek the advice of the group to collectively come up with effective solutions to the issue.  This allows all ideas to be presented and discussed before enacting on a plan of action. 

• Provide the case number in the subject line of the Discussion thread.
• List three questions you might ask the patient if he or she were in your office. Provide a rationale for why you might ask these questions.
• Identify people in the patients life you would need to speak to or get feedback from to further assess the patients situation. Include specific questions you might ask these people and why.
• Explain what physical exams and diagnostic tests would be appropriate for the patient and how the results would be used.
• List three differential diagnoses for the patient. Identify the one that you think is most likely and explain why.
• List two pharmacologic agents and their dosing that would be appropriate for the patients antidepressant therapy based on pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. From a mechanism of action perspective, provide a rationale for why you might choose one agent over the other.
• For the drug therapy you select, identify any contraindications to use or alterations in dosing that may need to be considered based on the clients ethnicity. Discuss why the contraindication/alteration you identify exists. That is, what would be problematic with the use of this drug in individuals of other ethnicities?
• If your assigned case includes check points (i.e., follow-up data at week 4, 8, 12, etc.), indicate any therapeutic changes that you might make based on the data provided.
• Explain lessons learned from this case study, including how you might apply this case to your own practice when providing care to patients with similar clinical presentations
