Instructions:
Since 1963, a series of United States Supreme Court case decisions have clarified that in criminal cases, prosecutors must disclose to the defense evidence favorable to the defendant. This includes information that may be used to impeach the credibility of government witnesses, including law enforcement officers. These decisions mean that police officers who have documented histories of lying in official matters are liabilities to their agencies, and these histories may render them unable to testify credibly.
With this in mind, you are the Chief of Police of a municipality. Your Deputy Chief of Police advises you that one of your officers was investigated for inappropriate use of one of the computers in the patrol division. As a result of this internal investigation, it was determined that the officer used this computer to search pornographic web sites. When confronted with this allegation, the officer denied any knowledge of this incident. Upon further investigation, the computer crimes analyst determined that the officers logon password was used to enter the unauthorized web sites. The officer then admitted to his wrongdoing and stated it would never happen again. This officer has been with your organization for 15 years, and the only other disciplinary action taken against him was for being involved in an at fault traffic accident 10 years ago. As the Chief of Police, you must decide how you will handle this situation?
Write a professional memorandum outlining and explaining how you will handle this situation. What recommendations would you make?

At some point in every construction project, efforts turn from design and the focus moves to actual construction. With the vision in place and the tools secured, the blueprint can be finalized and approved. Then it is time to put on hardhats and begin work.
Throughout the course you have developed aspects of your Academic and Professional Development Plan. You have thought a great deal about your vision and goals, your academic and professional network of support, research strategies and other tools you will need, the integrity of your work, and the value of consulting the work of others. With your portfolio in place, it is now time to finalize your blueprint for success.
Much as builders remain cognizant of the building standards as they plan and begin construction, nurses must remain mindful of the formal standards of practice that govern their specialties. A good understanding of these standards can help ensure that your success plan includes any steps necessary to excel within your chosen specialty.
In this Assignment you will continue developing your Academic Success and Professional Development Plan by developing the final componenta review of your specialty standards of practice. You will also submit your final version of the document, including Parts 15.
To Prepare:
    Review the scope and standards of practice or competencies related to your chosen specialty in the resources for this module.
    Review the MSN specializations offered at Walden by viewing the module resource, Walden University. (n.d.). Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
    Examine professional organizations related to the specialization you have chosen and identify at least one to focus on for this Assignment.
    Reflect on the thoughts you shared in the Discussion forum regarding your choice of a specialty, any challenges you have encountered in making this choice, and any feedback you have received from colleagues in the Discussion.

    Identify the professional organization related to your chosen specialization for this Assignment, and explain how you can become an active member of this organization.

Standards of Practice Program Transcript [MUSIC PLAYING] NARRATOR: To ensure the credibility of their work and guide their approach, builders follow standards as required by local and professional building codes. These codes promote safety and establish guidelines that ensure that new construction meets required specifications. It should not surprise you that the nursing profession adheres to guidelines as well. Standards of practice help guide clinical practice and ensure proficiency and safety. Professional nursing standards are also used to help evaluate a nurse’s care and ensure adherence to guidelines established by state and federal laws or leading health-care organizations. Builders follow standards to ultimately deliver the best products possible. So, too, should nursing professionals follow professional standards as a means of delivering the best care to patients. An early familiarity with standards of practice serves as yet another tool to help prepare you for your future success.

In this case study, you will analyze a testing scenario using your knowledge of testing and ethics.

Part A: Review the Case

A college counselor for a large university helps students select careers matched to their personalities. She uses computer administered personality tests as the primary source of information. The counselor uses the assessment with all students who seek counseling. Qualitative interviews are not part of the assessment process.

Part B: Case Analysis

In a 5-6 page paper, addressing the following information:

1. Describe your immediate reaction to the scenario. What are the details you immediately noticed? What questions did the scenario raise about testing?

2. Identify and explain 3 factors that impact performance on objective tests.

3. Identify and discuss 3 reliability and validity concerns with the scenario.

4. Identify and explain at least 3 ethical concerns as per the APA Ethical Codes and how you would resolve the concerns.

Integrate 5 academic sources on psychological assessment to support your position.

Final Directions

Please ensure that your paper is in APA format from the 7th edition (2019), using 12 pt Times New Roman or Sans Serif font, double-spaced, with a title and references page. An abstract is not necessary. The paper should integrate a minimum of 5 scholarly resources. I will allow you to use the first person to explain your immediate reaction, but remember to keep your writing in the third person for the rest of the analysis. Also, I suggest that you use each of the aforementioned numerical points as respective subheadings to best format your paper.
