Emergency Preparedness and Response

Describe Florida, USA health department or health ministrys emergency preparedness and response plan. Be sure to include references for any documents you discuss.

Analyze the emergency preparedness plan for strengths and weaknesses, including whether the resources listed on the web page of your chosen organization are adequate and whether you perceive any gaps in the resources.

Regardless of whether you think the plan is adequate, suggest some resources that might be added and explain why you chose these.

Reflect upon the role you might play on the team given your professional track and preparation (health educator or public health practitioner) including explaining why this role important and what would happen if no one fulfilled this role.

Any topic (writer’s choice)

Read the 3 case studies in Nussbaum, pp. 41- 46.
For each case study respond to the following directions and then post on BlackBoard in Week 8 Discussion Board (read the chapters in DSM-5 related to each of the 3 disorders)
Identify the diagnostic criteria and diagnostic features which the patient in the case study meets for each disorder (Major Depressive Disorder, Schizophrenia, and Alcohol Use Disorder). Do this before reading the paragraph following the case information which Nussbaum has provided.
Identify the severity code, the specifier, and differential diagnoses. Do this before reading the case information provided by Nussbaum which follows the case.  What support does Nussbaum use in choosing the diagnostic label, specifier, and differential diagnoses?
Make an attempt at potential treatment you would consider.
What risk factors do you need to consider for each patient?

The Role of the RN/APRN in Policy-Making

Word cloud generators have become popular tools for meetings and team-building events. Groups or teams are asked to use these applications to input words they feel best describe their team or their role. A word cloud is generated by the application that makes prominent the most-used terms, offering an image of the common thinking among participants of that role.

What types of words would you use to build a nursing word cloud? Empathetic, organized, hard-working, or advocate would all certainly apply. Would you add policy-maker to your list? Do you think it would be a very prominent component of the word cloud?

Nursing has become one of the largest professions in the world, and as such, nurses have the potential to influence policy and politics on a global scale. When nurses influence the politics that improve the delivery of healthcare, they are ultimately advocating for their patients. Hence, policy-making has become an increasingly popular term among nurses as they recognize a moral and professional obligation to be engaged in healthcare legislation.

To Prepare:

Revisit the Congress.gov website provided in the Resources and consider the role of RNs and APRNs in policy-making.
Reflect on potential opportunities that may exist for RNs and APRNs to participate in the policy-making process.

Post an explanation of at least two opportunities that exist for RNs and APRNs to actively participate in policy-making. Explain some of the challenges that these opportunities may present and describe how you might overcome these challenges. Finally, recommend two strategies you might make to better advocate for or communicate the existence of these opportunities to participate in policy-making. Be specific and provide examples.

Attitudes towards COVID-19

I have already written the results section of the research paper along with doing the tables and figures from our survey. Our survey looked at an experimental group viewed a  police brutality video) and our control group viewed a coming video. After that, they were both asked to take a survey about restrictions placed on our university campus since coronavirus hit and we get the results of their attitudes towards COVID from the survey. I have attached an outline of our hypothesis and what we thought would happen along with the excel spreadsheet from our survey gizmo results and the finished results page.. I need at least 3 APA journal articles related to research included using the PsycINFO database.

Microeconomice

A paper on a microeconomic topic is required for this course. As per your Course Outline, you are required to submit a written assignment (course paper) for this course. There are fifty (50) points available for the written assignment and it is worth 20% of your course grade. Your course paper must address the following microeconomic topics:

Interpret the market conditions or market structures of real businesses (CLO3 or CLO1)
Employ marginal analysis to consumer and production decisions (CLO2, CLO6, CLO7)
Illustrate the concept of elasticity (CLO4)
Practice writing and analytical skills.

Select ONE firm from these options: Amazon, Boeing, Costco, Facebook, Gillette, Hachette, J.C. Penney, McDonalds, Priceline, Schick, Virgin Atlantic, and Wal-Mart. These firms are mentioned in your textbook as business cases, so you can read those sections to get some motivation for your paper. I also recommend to read current news and use the NU Library site for ECO203 to find academic articles related to your topic.

Select ONE research question from these two options:

What are the main characteristics of the Demand and Supply of the firm or industry of your choice?
What are the main characteristics of the market structure of the firm or industry of your choice?

Once you have selected a topic, be sure to conduct a thorough Review of Literature on the subject. The minimum length of your course paper is 10 pages, double-spaced without the title page and the page on references. There is no upper page limit for your paper. Additional guidance will be provided during the first week of the course.

Organize your paper with five sections:

Introduction and objective. Make sure the objective is specific.
Literature Review. Conduct a search on the topic of your paper and summarize works of others similar to what you are writing on. Be sure to follow APA guidelines. The following link contains basics of APA style guidelines:
http://www.apastyle.org/learn/tutorials/basics-tutorial.aspx
Analysis: Analyze your topic with reference to the objective.
Summary and conclusion.
References. Provide at least five references, at least two of which must be scholarly books and /or journals.
Notes

Refereed papers are academic papers that were criticized and reviewed by experts before being published. More information can be found in http://jerz.setonhill.edu/writing/academic/sources/journals/index.htmlhttp://www.yukoncollege.yk.ca/~agraham/guides/guidec.shtml.
To find the academic articles that you need for your paper (at least one), go to the following full text databases in our library: Business Source Premier (EBSCO), Emerald Management Xtra, LexisNexis Academic, ProQuest Databases and ProQuestDissertations and Thesis. These databases are in http://library.nu.edu/FindResources/ResourceFinder.cfm. Databases have different sources or information, and you always have to combine them. Economists would say that databases are complements rather than substitutes, in other words, try more than one database.
Short papers are nice pieces of art. Your paper will be evaluated not in terms of right/wrong but on rational coherence  and quality of the argument.

Capstone Project

Discussion: Managing a Project From Project Charter to Project Management Plan

Some projects have ambitious goals, and some fill in small pieces of a larger puzzle. An organization must evaluate whether a project is necessary to support the business vision and whether it is worth the time, money, and risk to implement. The organization must also assess the effect of any new project on other established projects.

An organization creates a Project Charter to help in the evaluation. This document summarizes the goals, benefits, risks, costs, and major stakeholders for the project. The Project Charter also names the Project Manager and, once signed by the Project Sponsor(s), allows the project to officially begin. The Project Manager creates and maintains the Project Management Plan, a compilation of living project documentation that tracks all aspects of project.

This Discussion enables you to exchange opinions with students about the role of the Project Charter and the Project Management Plan.

To prepare for this Discussion, read the provided Case Study document, which can be found in the Learning Resources, and create a list of project stakeholders.
