Realtors rely on detailed property appraisalsconducted using appraisal toolsto assign market values to houses and other properties. These values are then presented to buyers and sellers to set prices and initiate offers.
Research appraisal is not that different. The critical appraisal process utilizes formal appraisal tools to assess the results of research to determine value to the context at hand. Evidence-based practitioners often present these findings to make the case for specific courses of action.
In this Assignment, you will use an appraisal tool to conduct a critical appraisal of published research. You will then present the results of your efforts.
To Prepare:
    Reflect on the four peer-reviewed articles you selected in Module 2 and the four systematic reviews (or other filtered high- level evidence) you selected in Module 3.
    Reflect on the four peer-reviewed articles you selected in Module 2 and analyzed in Module 3.
    Review and download the Critical Appraisal Tool Worksheet Template provided in the Resources.

The Assignment (Evidence-Based Project)

Part 4A: Critical Appraisal of Research
Conduct a critical appraisal of the four peer-reviewed articles you selected by completing the Evaluation Table within the Critical Appraisal Tool Worksheet Template. Choose a total of four peer- reviewed articles that you selected related to your clinical topic of interest in Module 2 and Module 3 (PLEASE SEE ATTACHED FILE).
Note: You can choose any combination of articles from Modules 2 and 3 for your Critical Appraisal. For example, you may choose two unfiltered research articles from Module 2 and two filtered research articles (systematic reviews) from Module 3 or one article from Module 2 and three articles from Module 3. You can choose any combination of articles from the prior Module Assignments as long as both modules and types of studies are represented.

Part 4B: Critical Appraisal of Research
Based on your appraisal, in a 1-2-page critical appraisal, suggest a best practice that emerges from the research you reviewed. Briefly explain the best practice, justifying your proposal with APA citations of the research.

Empirical Research and Developmental Theory

A new understanding you have gained in the resources about gender identity
An explanation of how individuals’ gender identity affects their development through young and middle adulthood
A strategy you might use to apply your understanding of gender identity development to social work practice

Personal leadership philosophy statement

Nurse leaders are advantaged when they develop deep knowledge of their own philosophy of leadership: inclusive of values, ethics, and attitudes about inclusion, accountability and responsibility. Your philosophy should relate to the nursing profession and to leadership.

In this assignment, you will write a philosophy statement, you will analyze that philosophy statement and discuss how you developed it. Your analysis and description of your synthesis process tells how you selected the leadership elements and how you synthesized those elements into the philosophy. It is in this section that you will connect your philosophy to course content along with your personal professional experiences and professional motivations. For example, if you were influenced by a particular theory of motivation, state that and give a reference. Its likely that influences come from many sources; this course leaders you’ve known, parents/family members, spiritual/religious leaders, concepts from other courses etc. you can include all types of sources of influence, simply reference them.

Identify a phenomenon of interest that resonates with your area of practice/expertise and describe the target population.

Describe the background and significance of the problem or phenomenon of interest:

What is the background to support this concept? Why is it a concern?
Who is affected by this issue (target population)?
What is the significance to the target population?
What is the significance to the discipline of nursing?  How is this relevant to APRN practice?

Conduct a literature search on your topic.  Narrow your focus.  Use the above questions to discuss the background and significance of the problem.  Later, you will be using your phenomenon of interest and applying a theory-driven approach to study it.  Therefore, your initial paper will be concise and to the point.  In your final paper, you will develop each concept in detail as you follow the assignment rubric.

A. A large-scale investment (A) to purchase a new cooker which could produce a substantial pay-off in terms of increased revenue net of costs but requires an investment of 3,750,000 Saudi Riyal. After extensive market research it is thought that there is a 40% chance that a pay-off of 9,375,000 Saudi Riyal will be realized, but there is a 60% chance that it will be only 3,000,000 Saudi Riyal.
B. A smaller scale project (B) to refurbish an existing cooker. At 1,875,000 Saudi Riyal, this option is less costly but produces a lower pay-off. Again, extensive research data suggests a 30% chance of a gain of 3,750,000 Saudi Riyal but a 70% chance of it being only 1,875,000 Saudi Riyal.
C. Continuing the present operation without change (C) which cost nothing, but produces no pay-off.

Leadership and Teams

It may sound intuitive, or commonplace, that the promotion of teams should be a prominent component of an organizations strategic plan. However, when created and managed ineffectively, the utilization of teams can be met with indecision, incessant delays, conflict, dissention and eventually a dramatic loss in productivity. Compose an essay that address the following in relation to the formation and utilization of teams within an organization. Assume you have been appointed as the Plant Manager of a new 5,000 employee production facility to be opened in Saudi Arabia by a long-established European firm:

First, as there are cultural, societal, and economic differences between European and Saudi Arabian firms, briefly summarize the key differences between operating a business/organization in Europe and Saudi Arabia.
Second, the formation and utilization of teams is seen as central to the operational success of this new production facility in Saudi Arabia. As the leader of the endeavor, suggest a team model/theory you would implement to create and sustain a team-oriented culture in the production facility. Briefly define/describe the model/theory and its particular relevance in this endeavor.
