Detail the steps you will need to follow in your strategy and what you will need to consider.
Explain your plan for collecting data:
What type(s) of data will you collect and how much?
Where will you get your data from?

Social Policy: Analysis and Advocacy

In this Assignment, you write a proposal for some form of social advocacy that will seek to change a social, organizational, or legislative policy. The proposal may also involve advocacy for the amelioration of a social problem. The purpose of this assignment is to thoughtfully and thoroughly plan how you will advocate changing a social problem or policy that is of interest to you.

The policy practice/advocacy can take whatever form you wish and can be on any level: agency, community, state, or federal. You are expected to carry out the activities planned in this proposal and will present on your actions and outcomes in the Week 10 Final Project assignment

Population health and epidemiology

Noninfectious Disease Presentation

Scenario: You are an epidemiologist for a health research consulting firm. Your firm has been hired by a local hospital to assess the effects of disease occurrences on health care planning. The study period will cover the past 5 years, during which time the region served by the local hospital has seen an increase in certain health conditions, similar to other parts of the United States.

Your role is to review relevant information related to the hospital’s readiness to anticipate healthcare needs related to noninfectious diseases and resources to address those needs. In this part of the project, identify and evaluate epidemiologic studies and other data that have direct applicability to noninfectious diseases, which may result in an increased utilization of health care resources. Your evaluation will be presented to the hospital board.

Select an existing health condition that may be reduced or eliminated based on lifestyle or environmental choices. Locate a current experimental or observational study of your selected health condition. (some suggested topics can be Lung cancer, Heart condition (The Framingham Heart Study), or your choice).
Prepare a 10 – slides (excluding title slide, questions and answers slide, and reference slide). 2-slides for references. A total of 12 slides. Do the following in your presentation:
o    Briefly describe the health condition you selected.
o    Describe the experimental or observational research study of the health condition.
o    Critique the research study in terms of the study design’s strengths and weaknesses and the relevance and usefulness of the data.
o    Critique the implications of the research findings, including morbidity and mortality repercussions and potential treatment implications.
o    Provide suggestions for additional research, including a description of the preferred design, that would add value and understanding to the health condition from an epidemiologic standpoint and how goals could be achieved through the research study.
When you finish judt upload the assignment in the chart section and I will receive the power point.

Include detailed speakers notes on all slides.

Format references according to APA guidelines.

individual EBP Project Analysis

The Individual EBP Assignment requires the learner to find an EPB article that relates to the topic and group project problem. below you find documents to help you with this assignment:

EBP Article Analysis Guideline.docx
Exemplar.EBP.docx
EBP Journal Article PowerPoint Instructions.pptx

First review the group project problem and title.
Use keywords from your problem for your lookup inquiry. i.e. infection control, nurse, retention, etc.
Use EBP articles no more than 5 years old.
Make sure you put your name at the top and include your article citation in 7th ed. APA format of your assignment – see exemplar.
There are prompts in the left column to assist you.
Do not give research terms on your assignment i.e. this is a cross-sectional study or has validity unless you’re ready to explain how this will help you solve your problem. These terms are used so that you know if an article is valid and reliable. OK, so now that you found this, your job is to find out how this project will help you solve your problem.
The paper is set up to determine the strength, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the project itself.
By answering these questions, you will help guide and collaborate with your peers with constructive feedback on how to solve your problem collectively as a team.
Strength – Example: Did they have the support of the peers, manager, CEO. Did this project improve patient satisfaction, quality, efficiency? Usually found in the literature review and results.
Weakness – Example: This is the opposite. Why was this plan weak: Not enough education, no support, not enough money because of the expense? Usually found in the problem of the literature review, results, and limitations.
Opportunity – Example: If there wasn’t enough education, is this an opportunity? A better survey or tool? Usually found in results or limitations and future implications.
Threat – Example: Increased infection, possible death, etc. Usually found in the literature review.
It is your job to know your article and have the ability to articulate what your article is about with your peers and with your instructor.
During the virtual class, you may be asked to elaborate on your article. So know your article!
Please note that the exemplar provided received maximum points.

Week 1 Journal

Include a cover page and 2 pages of reflection regarding what learnings you’ve taken away from the week’s activities, readings, videos, and other information you found noteworthy. Any topic (writer’s choice)

Presenting Arguments
[WLOs: 2, 3] [CLOs: 1, 2, 5]
Review the assigned sections in Chapters 1 and 2 in your course textbook.
Review the following videos:
Identifying Premises and Conclusions (Links to an external site.)
What Is an Argument? (Links to an external site.)
What Is a Good Argument? (Part I) (Links to an external site.)
What Is a Good Argument? : The Logic Condition (Links to an external site.)
In this class, we learn to evaluate issues in light of the reasoning on all sides prior to arriving at conclusions. We aim to evaluate the quality and quantity of evidence, striving to be as objective as we can about what is most likely to be true.

If you have not done so already, begin by choosing a topic from the Final Paper Options list (located in your online classroom) to use in your writing assignments in this course. The next step is to formulate a specific research question that is important regarding this topic. You may review The Research Process (Links to an external site.) resource for more information. So, if your topic is gun control, you would formulate a specific question, such as, Are universal background checks effective at reducing violent crime in America?

Once you have formulated your question, conduct research from non-scholarly sources on the internet (e.g., news articles, op-eds, etc.) that present substantive reasoning on each side of the issue.

Your task is to present and evaluate the reasoning from a non-scholarly source on each side of your issue. There is no need to take sides on the issue at this stage. In your analysis, strive to be as objective as possible, evaluating the reasoning from a neutral point of view. For an example of how to complete this paper, take a look at the Week 1 Example paper.

Your paper should include clearly labeled sections addressing the following elements:

Introduction (approximately 100 words)
Explain your topic.
State the specific question that you are addressing.
Presentation of an Argument
Describe the non-scholarly source (e.g., an op-ed, newspaper article, website, etc.) on one side of the issue.
Summarize the key points made (approximately 50 words).
Present what you see as the main argument from that source. Make sure to present your argument in standard form, with the premises listed above the conclusion. (approximately 100 words)
Evaluate the quality of the reasoning in this source (approximately 200 words)
In completing your evaluation, consider assessing how well the research supports the premises of the main argument and how strongly the reasoning supports the conclusion of that argument.
Presentation of an Argument on the Other Side of the Issue
Describe the non-scholarly source on the opposite side of the issue.
Summarize the key points made. (approximately 50 words)
Present what you see as the main argument from that source. (Make sure to present your argument in standard form, with the premises listed above the conclusion.) (approximately 100 words)
Evaluate the quality of the reasoning in this source (approximately 200 words)
In completing your evaluation, consider assessing how well the research supports the premises of the main argument and how strongly the reasoning supports the conclusion.
