Resources
During this course, you will be designing and conducting a study based on pre-existing data and analyzing the results. Each assessment will work together to help you through this process, so it is important to complete the assessments in order. First, let’s look at the research process in general.

The Research Process
As you launch your research project, get started by reading the following chapters in your textbook.

Salkind, N. J. (2017). Exploring research (9th ed.). Boston, MA: Pearson. Available in the courseroom via the VitalSource Bookshelf link.
Chapter 1, “The Role and Importance of Research,” pages 112.
This chapter explains what research is, the various types of research, and when to apply these types.
Chapter 2, “The Research Process: Coming to Terms,” pages 1525.
This chapter will help you gain a full understanding of variables, developing a hypothesis, and the importance of significance.
Chapter 3A, “Selecting a Problem and Reviewing the Research,” pages 2961.
This chapter will help you develop research interests and learn how to write a literature review. This will help you for your upcoming assessment, where you will create a literature review based on the topic and variables that you choose.
Complete Research Continuum to review different types of research, if they are quantitative or qualitative, and their levels of objectivity and subjectivity.

Developing a Hypothesis
You will be creating a hypothesis for your literature review as well. To help you with that, refer to the Research Questions and Hypotheses Quick Guide in the Learn tab of Academic Writer.

Literature Review Practice
Complete Help! Proof This Literature Review, where you can practice proofreading a literature review, which is what you will be completing for your assessment. You will answer questions related to proofreading and receive feedback that can help you with your own literature review. This is for your own practice and self-assessment.

Preparation
Variables
Throughout this course, you will work on developing a research project using data from the GSS Data Explorer website, which contains archival data. Archival data is preexisting data that has been collected by another individual or organization, and is available to be analyzed enabling us to draw new conclusions about the data.

In Assessment 2, you will use the website to extract your data using the two variables that you select for this assessment. Begin by selecting two variables of your choice from the following list. Note that “r” represents the participant. These are the variables that you will use throughout the course in your research project.

Satisfaction with financial situation.
Change in financial situation.
Opinion of family income.
Marital status.
Highest year of school completed.
Spouse’s highest degree.
Does r or spouse supervise anyone?
How often r attends religious services.
Condition of health.
Next, start to design a research topic involving the two selected variables. For example, if you select “condition of health” and “How often r attends religious services,” you may want to research how religion impacts an individual’s health and wellness.

Scholarly Sources
Before you conduct research, you need to center your hypothesis and supporting literature on this topic through a literature review, which will be the first piece of your project. You will need to find at least seven scholarly sources to use for your literature review. Below are resources that may help you.

Start with Research Methods in Psychology Library Guide, which provides focused library databases and APA resources that may direct your article search.
Organizing all of your articles and notes will help you work through your literature review more efficiently. Complete Developing a Matrix to Organize Your Literature Review, which will help you organize your notes and think of ways to categorize your findings, such as definitions, variables, findings, and population. It also provides an example of a completed matrix.
Instructions
Write a 35 page literature review that incorporates at least seven scholarly sources. Address the following within your literature review. Ensure that each main point of your paper is supported clearly with evidence from your sources. Under some points, there are guiding questions to guide your thinking, but be sure to consult the scoring guide to make sure you are covering all of what will be assessed.

Explain the psychological concepts that were addressed in the research.
Are there any patterns, themes, or trends that you were able to trace in your research?
Describe the concepts related to the theory that will be the basis for your research.
Discuss the value and the limitations of the theoretical concepts.
Develop a plausible hypothesis, where you predict the outcomes of the relationship between your two variables, that relies on evidence and reasoning.
Use APA-style formatting, citations, and references.
Submission Requirements
Submit your literature review as your deliverable for assessment.

Note: Your instructor may also use the Writing Feedback Tool to provide feedback on your writing. In the tool, click the linked resources for helpful writing information.

thoughts on voice activated technology

Tired of using your hands to type and text? Are you unsure that voice-activated controls of electronic devices and PCs really work? Thought control may have just solved your problems. Emotiv Systems specializes in creating systems that can be controlled by brain-computer interfaces or a computerized version of thought control. The companys Epoc sixteen-sensor headset communicates wirelessly with a PC. The user is able to think a command and have that command activated on a computer. Since the device is tuned to an individuals processing thoughts, security of thought protection seems to exist. See http://www.emotiv.com for more details on the technology and products.

Your assignment is to designate a target market for initial introduction of the product. Next, describe the appeal format that you think would be best for the Epoc headset to use to reach the designated market. Explain your appeal choice. Conclude your assignment by selecting an executional framework that is consistent with your chosen target market and appeal. Describe the ad you would construct from such choices.

the legality of downloading things

https://www.oercommons.org/courses/launch-advertising-and-promotion-in-real-time/view

Do you download software, movies, or songs without considering the legality of what you are doing? Even though this practice has consequences for some, many dont see unauthorized downloading as necessarily bad or harmful to anyone. Using Google or another search engine, research copyright, file sharing, and music downloads to learn more about the current state of the downloading practice and any penalties associated with it. A good starting place would be the United States Copyright Offices Web site at http://www.copyright.gov.

Visit RealNetworks at http://www.realnetworks.com. RealNetworks has developed a software product (see the RealPlayer product category) that allows computers to rip information from a disk in just a few moments. This information can later be transferred to other disks. At present this process is legal. Examine RealNetworks description of their products and services.

What future ethical dilemma do you think such products as RealPlayer might cause? As a consumer, do you think a positive or negative buzz should be started about such products? As an advertising executive, what would be your stance on accepting companies that made software of this nature as clients? Take a stance and discuss your position.

Create an essay with the instructions provided

For this assignment, you will select two of the fire investigation categories from Chapter 7 that pose a risk in their own community (structural, wildland, vehicle, manufactured housing, or boat and ship) and develop a two-page essay on the considerations and special challenges associated with the selected types of investigation. The paper should focus on these fire types and their characteristics from an investigators viewpoint. For each fire type, include a sentence or two examining why these categories are a risk in your community.

Your essay should be a minimum of two pages, not including the title and reference pages. You must use a minimum of three sources, one of which may be your textbook. All sources used will be properly cited. Your essay, including all references, will be formatted in APA style.

Use structural fires and vehicle fires (in North America specifically) as your two.

My text is Kirks Fire Investigation, 8th Edition if that helps.

International Diversity Profile

In this unit, we have focused on the thoughts and behaviors of diversity and inclusion in the U.S. and around the world. Examine the trends of thoughts and behaviors of diversity and inclusion for
a specific country. You will choose one country or region of the world and determine the current state of diversity in its
companies and also focus on the recent trends in the thoughts and beliefs regarding diversity and inclusion among the
citizens of the country or region. Specifically, your research and analysis should include the following content areas:
1. Opportunities from Diversity: How diverse is the country/region? What are facts and trends for the country/region?
2. Challenges of Diversity: How has the country/region become more diverse? What resistance was there for diversity
and inclusion?
3. Best Practices: What paths have the country/region taken to become diverse? If none, why are they resisting diversity
and inclusion? How do company leaders in your chosen country/region view diversity and inclusion?
4. Regional Characteristics: What specific diversity and inclusion characteristics are found in your region/country?
5. Conclusion: What can the rest of the world learn from your country/region regarding diversity and inclusion (positive
and negative)?
Using the Required Unit Resources and the Suggested Unit Resources for Unit III and also conducting your own research
using the Waldorf Online Library on the topic, you will complete a three-page research activity on your chosen
country/region. Your submission should also include at least two scholarly sources (include at least one new scholarly
source that is not found in this unit). The sources that you use should be current (5 years or newer) to ensure that the
updated information on the countrys diversity and inclusion are discussed.

Eriksons Psychosocial Stages of Development. You will pick one of his eight Developmental Crises and research how best to resolve it.

Developmental Psychology 200

Research Assignment

The subject of the research paper will be Eriksons Psychosocial Stages of Development. You will pick one of his eight Developmental Crises and research how best to resolve it.

The research paper is an opportunity for you to conduct your own developmental analyses. The paper should be based on library research, and class materials (i.e., lectures, assignments, and text). It is important to note that your project must have scholarly bibliographic references.

https://courses.lumenlearning.com/lifespandevelopment2/

The purpose of this assignment is to display your critical thinking about an issue in developmental psychology. You are expected to integrate your own experiences into the analysis of the literature and to demonstrate analyses from multiple perspectives. For example, compare/contrast analyses of the issues by race, culture, history, or theory.

You should read many papers, books, and articles for your project and include at least 5 references. The paper must be at least 5 typed pages, double-spaced, and should include:

a clear statement about the developmental issues addressed in your paper, the focus of your observations, research, or experiences, and the evidence on which your views are based; your personal reactions, evaluations, and critical analyses from different perspectives references to ideas expressed in lectures, discussions, or readings; and
your synthesis, point of view, or conclusion to your argument.
Create conditions most conducive to an individuals successful resolution of your choice of an Eriksonian crisis. You are asked to choose one of Eriksons 8 crisis of development, and imagine designing an environment for someone in which he/she is all-but-guaranteed to thrive psychosocially, according to Erikson. Imagine yourself writing a handbook for perfect development during one of his stages.

As the sphere of influence diagram is intended to depict, you may want to address issues within one of the spheres (interpersonal, organizational, community, etc.), or you may want to address issues in different spheres.

I expect you to revise, edit, and proofread the paper thoroughly before handing it in. Disorganized writing and thinking will lower the grade given to your paper. Use APA style (which is found in most psychology journals).
