Final Research Paper
Write a research paper that is at least 2000 words, but no more than 2200 words, not including the cover page, abstract and/or references. It must be a double-spaced research paper using Arial or Times Roman 12-point font. It should be one of the topics covered and discussed in this course. The paper should address the issues of cultural differences in work-related aspects of society. The focus should be on countries and/or regions other than the US; however, the comparative analysis between other nations and the US is appropriate. You may also consider Globalization issues, such as the effect of Globalization on a certain professional field or similar comparisons. Choose a topic that is relevant to the course topics and discussions and something that is relevant to your own professional, personal, and academic experiences and interests. This
is the designated assignment for your e-portfolio. The paper must be written and organized according to APA format; particularly, pay attention to citations and references of research sources, and to the correspondence between citations in the text of your essay and references at the end. It is expected that you will be using 10 different
sources (minimum) that will include academic publications, national/international databases, media/news reports, etc. The cover sheet, abstract page, and reference pages do not count as part of the word count. You do need page numbers. Do not exceed the 2200 word limit. One aspect of this assignment is learning how to consolidate and organize your paper, so it stays within the word count limits. It is possible that additional pages will result in point deduction. You must show a word count. It must be saved as a word doc. PDF files will not be accepted.

and/or articles on BeachBoard.
What does Globalization mean to you? Globalization is one of the most charged issues of the
day. It is everywhere in public discourse in TV sound bites and slogans on placards, in websites and learned journals, in parliaments, corporate boardrooms and labor meeting halls.
Extreme opponents charge it with impoverishing the world’s poor, enriching the rich and
devastating the environment, while fervent supporters see it as a high-speed elevator to universal
peace and prosperity. So, what did you think?
Note: There is no right or wrong answer; however, this is a critical thinking exercise and it is
important that you are operating at a post-conventional level.
This paper must be (450 to 500 words). The reference list is not included in the word count.
There is a cover page required, but no abstract. You must have a word count. It must be saved

M06 Discussion: “Arguing to Convince – Making Your Case”
No unread replies.No replies.
Arguing to convince is all about making your case–pitting your argument against another in order to convince your audience to agree with you. For this module’s discussion, you will explore possible thesis statements and counter arguments on your research topic, and reflect on the strengths and weaknesses of these arguments.
INITIAL POST (due by mid-module deadline)
1. In one or two sentences, very briefly summarize your research topic, sketching the major problem or issue you intend to focus on.
2. Follow this brief summary with two (2) possible thesis statements for the argument or case you might to answer your research question. Write this in the form of an enthymeme*. In total, you will write two (2) enthymemes: one in support of YOUR view and one in support of an opposing view.
*An enthymeme is a type of argumentative reasoning in which the claim (X) is directly connected to its reasons (Y). In other words, your reasons for making the claim must be relevant to the claim you are making. In this type of thesis statement the claim (X) is a debatable point, and the reasoning (Y) consists of one or more points which both you and your audience will agree upon. In its simplest form an enthymeme might look like this:
I believe ____X____, because _____Y .
Example:
Weak enythmeme: “I believe I should get an A in ENGL 215, because I tried my hardest.” While you and your audience may agree that you tried your hardest in the course, that alone is unfortunately not enough to earn you a grade of A (and therefore your reason is not relevant to the claim you are making).
Stronger enthymeme: “I believe I should get an A in ENGL 215, because I followed all directions, submitted all work on time and received about a 90 % score on all assignments.” (If you and your audience agree on all of these reasons then you have a high likelihood of convincing your reader that you should receive an A in the course. The implied reason is that these things fulfill the criteria of the course enough to receive an A).
3. Lastly, reflect on the creation of your two possible thesis statements. Comment on all of the following questions:
What do you think are the strengths of each thesis statement you developed? Why?
Which thesis was the hardest to come up with, and which was the easiest? Why?
Which thesis do you think could be supported most effectively in an argument essay? Why?
Which thesis statement do you think would make the most interesting paper to read? What kinds of audiences do you think would be most interested in it? Why?
Which thesis statement would take the most additional research to support? What kinds of information or sources would you need to support it?
Comment on anything else you learned about forming an argument on your topic.
Reflection
The final part of the paper will be to reflect on what you learned about interviewing, research, and consulting as a result of this term project. Be sure to include information about what you think went right about your approach to the project, as well as what you would do differently if you were to do this same type of project in the future.
Personal Leadership Plan
Develop a written leadership plan for your personal leadership growth and development.
The plan should address but is not limited to the following components:
1) Identification of female leaders for mentorship (be sure to describe this person)
2) Realistic communication plan for meeting with your identified mentor (provide details)
3) Brief summary of past leadership experiences and leadership skills you would like to develop (be specific)
4) Timeline for your leadership skill development plan (be specific but brief; may be in list form)
5) List of measurable outcomes for your identified leadership skill development area (goals & results)
Your paper should be in essay format, two to three (2-3) pages (not including Reference page) and include correct APA citations.

STEM 205 Final Project: elementary class math project
Objective: In this project based learning (PBL) assignment, you will design and execute a STEM project that will tie into an elementary math lesson. The project focuses on mathematics learning while integrating science, technology, and engineering to engage elementary students and deepen their mathematical thinking. The project should help elementary students understand the application of mathematics in STEM and use mathematical ideas to solve problems that are related to real-life. Teacher candidates are expected to design the STEM project independently by drawing on the course resources and other resources available to them.
Procedure: there are FOUR parts to your project:
[1] Researching your project
First, you need to choose a type of project that you would give your students. Look to your textbooks for innovative ways to teach math and use PBL with STEM-centered projects. Visit some of the following websites for more ideas:
http://mashupmath.com/blog/2017/5/2/10-awesome-end-of-year-math-project-ideas

https://theinnovativeeducator.blogspot.com/2010/03/10-ideas-for-innovative-math.html
Once you know the form your project will take, then you need a topic for your project (remember this is an elementary STEM math project, so it needs to tie into a math class lesson)choose an appropriate math lesson for an elementary class!
frame it around a real-world application (ex. weather, space, disease)
use current news issues and real organizations (NASA, NOAA, CDC)
make it a fun and interesting topic for elementary students (but make sure it is of importance and that you demonstrate and discuss its importance)
[2] Create your math lesson plan (remember to make it STEM based)
feel free to tie it into one of the topics in your textbook on math content
ex. fractions, ratios, the number line, negative numbers, etc.
go the following website for examples on how to write and format lesson plans:

[3] Project overview and detailed description
[4] Create a formative assessment for the lesson that compliments the project
include an answer key with explanations and a grading rubric
ex. short quiz, test, essay, reflection, etc.
Final Project Format and Elements:
In this assignment, you will submit a 5 page minimum (NOT including title and references) written educational proposal of your project. This document will be typed, double-spaced, in Times New Roman or Arial font of 11 or 12 font size, with 1-inch margins. It should include the following components to describe the project and discuss the importance of it:
Title page (with your name, date, class, and name of your project)
Page 1: Introduction to the STEM project: at least a page on the topic of your project, time period, objectives and standards covered (reference CCSSM, NGSS). Provide background information on your topic and discuss the current issues or real world events you are using to engage students.
Page 2: Rationale of the STEM project: why you chose this topic, importance of it and of the project, how STEM is important to your project, the connection with STEM and math, math teaching strategies you are employing to engage students in this project
Page 3: Your STEM math lesson plan: visit the websites in the previous section to find out more information on ways to format lesson plans.
Page 4: The Steps of the STEM project: this is the detailed explanation and setup of your projectwhat is it, what is the procedure, what is the format, what is the end result, and what is the learning objective(s)?
Page 5: Assessment of student learning: create an assessment piece that includes the answer key with explanations that could be used to grade students on their comprehension of your math project and lesson.

Writing Assignment
What were the legal arguments of both the prosecution and the defendant in the case of Sheppard v. Maxwell, and what were the long-term implications of this case? Be sure to provide specific details and examples to support your thesis. This is a broad question; it is up to you to provide a substantial answer — no B.S.!
Module 6 Capstone Portfolio Transferable skills
Throughout your education, you have been asked to research topics and write papers, engage in thought-provoking discussions, consider diverse perspectives, and a host of other challenges that have required you to use both your discipline-specific skills as well as your soft skills. These are called transferable skills, and are skills that you develop that can be transferred and applied within your chosen career. Transferable skills are highly valuable and essential for career success.
Throughout this course, you have been working on a project that allowed you to demonstrate your understanding of the transferable skills. It is now time to submit your project/assignment and add a transferable skills reflection.
To complete this assignment, you will need to do the following:
Part I: Compiling Your Exemplar Project
Compile all of your completed course project assignment deliverables. Place them in the proper order, and save them in a single Microsoft Word document.
Part II: Transferable Skills Self Reflection
In a minimum of 1 full page, using Microsoft Word, write an essay (full introduction and conclusion), which includes the following:
Describe the knowledge, skills and/or attitudes regarding each of the transferable skills that you’ve gained as a result of completing this particular project/assignment.
Discuss the ways that you are going to incorporate the transferable skills (the transferable skills that you showcased in your exemplary project) into your work within your chosen career field.
Describe your future goals based on the transferable skills that you’ve chosen to showcase.
Write your paper utilizing proper tone, spelling and grammar.
Once you have completed your reflection assignment, add it to the end of the document you compiled in part I. The self-reflection should be the last few pages of your exemplar project. If done correctly, everything will be one document!
Save the compiled document to a folder. Then, zip or compress the folder, and submit the zipped folder to the drop box.
Module 04 Course Project Implementation and Evaluation Plan
For your course project, you will draw upon your previous knowledge to create a Community/Population Health Education Program geared towards a prevalent public health issue.
Project Part 4 – Implementation and Evaluation Plan
Implementation refers to the conversion of planning, goals, and objectives into action. It is the setting up, managing, and executing of a program. There are several different phases relevant to program implementation. In some instances, these phases will occur in sequential order. In other instances, they occur simultaneously. The key is to understand that all programs are diverse in nature and phases should be adapted to best meet the needs of the program.
Basic Phases of Implementation:
Phase 1: Start of a program
Phase 2: Identifying tasks to be completed and prioritizing those tasks to be completed
Phase 3: Establishing a system of management for completing tasks
Phase 4: Putting plans into action
Phase 5: Ending or sustaining a program
Evaluations are critical for all programs. It is a method to separate the successful programs from the ones that are not.
Your paper should be a minimum of three-pages and include the following:
Determine the code of conduct for your program.
Identify ethical and professional behaviors for program implementation and participation
Identify the leadership structure of your program and who would be primarily responsible for implementation of each program phase
Determine how leadership will ethically promote program participation
Review your health education program and how each of the phases of implementation will be addressed
Be sure to include examples
Determine the methodology desired for evaluating the efficacy of your health education program
Determine if formal or informal activities will be utilized and what will be assessed
Include a draft evaluation plan
Format your paper using APA style, including a title page and a reference page that contains the sources you used. For help with formatting your paper, visit the APA Guide.
