Use the attached Change Canvas template  to answer the following:

2.    The Board of Directors for your company has created an agenda around organizational purpose. You need to select a project that will demonstrate how analytics can help advance corporate social responsibility. A critical step in the change process is proving the value that analytics can bring.
o    The first project should have a very clear goal and be limited in scope. It should be focused on what is required to prove value in a short period of time, i.e. within a few months. The value should be clear and visible to the organization, i.e. it should be material. An important component of materiality is alignment with the vision, mission and strategy of the company.
o    Not everyone will be supportive of your proposal so it is important to think about different stakeholder groups and their motivations for supporting or opposing your project. You need to gain organizational support for your project before you can implement it. What stakeholder groups would support your proposal? What stakeholder groups would oppose your proposal? Based on your understanding of the stakeholders and their motivations for supporting or opposing your project, develop a tailored communication plans for each stakeholder group. Which stakeholders (or groups of stakeholders) will you communicate with? In what sequence? Describe the messages that you will use to persuade each stakeholder or stakeholder group of the importance and value of the first project. Describe how will you address both the rational and emotional concerns of the different stakeholder groups, and why you think these messages will be effective.
You need a functional leader to sponsor your first project. Describe the messages that you will use to persuade this leader of the importance and value of the first project to him/her. You need to inform your sponsor of the progress of the first project. Describe how you will use analytics to measure the receptivity to change, and to monitor the change process.

Resume

You will find a job for which you are qualified (and you will submit the job posting as part of your assignment). This job can be local or not; it can even be a change of job posted from within your current organization. The key is to find a job that you are qualified to perform but need to apply for.

Once you have identified the potential job (and captured the posting), you will create a resume using the guidelines found in Chapter 15. Think about which elements are most critical for job you are trying to get.

In addition, you will write a cover letter to accompany your resume. Be careful to develop the letter appropriately, addressing the appropriate person (which may require a little investigation on your part), including the best information to sell yourself, and of course, writing it well. As you create both your resume and your cover letter, think about the look of the document, as well.

Requirements:

1) Job posting for an appropriate job. (included with your other items this can be a URL or an image)

2) Fully development resume

3) Well written cover letter

4) Remember to use an easy-to-read font and make sure everything looks good on the page

5) Submit all three items (in a single file or multiple) to Blackboard by midnight on Sunday, May 3

leader paper

Your individual term project consists of an analysis of a written, published biography of a leader. The leaders biography should be someone you are interested in and/or someone you want to learn more about. You may select the leader from the realm of business, but you can select the leader from any field (politics, sports, history, entertainment, etc.) any industry, any time period. The book you choose can be either an autobiography written by the person on his/her life, or it may be a biography written by someone else. You have the first week of the term to select and get my approval for your chosen leader. Submit, in hard copy) the name of the subject and the book you selected during the second class session.

You will write a 12-15 page (double-spaced) paper outlining your chosen leader. This is NOT  a book report of this leader but an assessment of the key factors and characteristics that defined this person as a leader, e.g., what path did this person follow, what is his/her vision, what leadership style did they employ, who were their role models, how did they make decisions, what was the situational context, etc.

Questions about your leader: In developing your paper and responding to the leadership questions, it is recommended that you research beyond your chosen biography through articles and texts related to your leader, his or her industry, and leadership attributes that they represent and exemplify. In addition, it is recommended that, in developing your final paper, you incorporate the readings, topics, and issues learned throughout the class related to leadership theory and the leadership process.

Specifically in your paper you will discuss:

    Path followed to leadership
Leaders vision and how and who helped develop this vision
    Leadership style
Role models who influenced his/her style
    Price paid and successors
