Create and Curate Your Own Art Museum

For this paper, you will select and curate 510 works of art to include in your own art museum. Use the text and online sources to help you find these works of art. This assignment is an alternative option for visiting a museum or art gallery. After researching, answer the following questions by writing a 2to 3-page report, 750800 words, that describes your experience.

Select 510 works of art from at least five artists from different time periods discussed in the text, the 18th century to modern times.

Provide a brief description of each piece and a picture if possible, explaining why you chose each piece.

Describe where and how you would display each piece, whether individually or grouped together.

Describe your role as museum founder and curator. Give your museum a name and a location.

Criminal Justices

A recent study illustrates that nearly two (2) million juveniles are processed through juvenile courts across the United States each year. Depending on the nature of the crime, juveniles may face detention or incarceration if they are convicted. Given the fact that many courts are reluctant to incarcerate criminal offenders, judges often consider alternatives to incarceration. The driving force behind these alternatives is to save taxpayer money, yet still, demand offender accountability and impose sanctions for criminal behavior.

Use the Internet or Strayer databases to research the use of sanctions other than incarceration or detention for juvenile offenders.

Write a two to three (2-3) page paper in which you:

Examine the underlying historical and economic reasons behind the quest for alternatives to incarcerating offenders in jails and prisons.
Describe three (3) alternatives to incarceration that juvenile courts currently use. Provide examples of such alternatives in practice to support the response.
Discuss the significant societal and individual benefits of imposing sanctions or punishments that do not involve removing an offender from his / her family or community.
Use at least three (3) quality references. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not qualify as academic resources.

Lisa is nervous and instructs you to keep the cash receipts book open for one additional day for purposes of the June 30 report to the insurance company. Lisa says, If we dont get that cash balance over $200,000, well default on our loan agreement. They could close us down, put us all out of our jobs! Lisa continues, I talked to Oconto Distributors (one of Linbargers largest customers) this morning. They said they sent us a check for $150,000 yesterday. We should receive it tomorrow. If we include just that one check in our cash balance, well be in the clear. Its in the mail!

Cultural Activity Report

Visit a museum topic: The National Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institution, also called the Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C.

It makes sense to approach a museum the way a seasoned traveler approaches visiting a city for the first time. Find out what is available to see. In the museum, find out what sort of exhibitions are currently housed in the museum and start with the exhibits that interest you.
If there is a traveling exhibition, it’s always a good idea to see it while you have the chance. Then, if you have time, you can look at other things. The quality of your experience is not measured by the amount of time you spend in the galleries or the number of works of art that you see. The most rewarding experiences can come from finding 510 works of art by 510 different artists who intrigue you, and then considering those works in leisurely contemplation. Most museums have benches where you can sit and study a particular piece.

Option 1: Visiting a Museum – National Air and Space Museum in DC

3. Provide a summary of the pieces and describe your overall reaction after viewing them.
4. Describe the role of museum founder and curator.
5. Use the class text as a reference (additional sources are fine, but not necessary unless required by your content). Your report should include
connections you make between things observed in your activity and things learned in the course and text.
